A former local priest and admitted child molester has been released from a Napanee-area jail.

Donald Grecco had been in custody since October 6th for violating the conditions of his release.

Grecco has plead guilty to three counts gross indecency for molesting three altar boys in the 1970s and 80s.

The 70 year old was held because he did not stay at the Prince Edward County home where he was ordered to live.

But the Crown Attorney in the case said Grecco had served a lot of time for a simple violation and she did not see a reason to keep him locked up any longer.

Grecco will back back in a Hamilton court on November 30th on the counts of gross indecency.

The Crown Attorney will be making a submission to be considered in Grecco's sentencing.

That decision is expected December 14th.

Grecco is also the target of a pair of three million dollar civil suits by victims Mike Blum [bloom] and James Hennessey.
