Tommy Shelton, former pastor of Dunn Loring's Community Church of God

FAIRFAX, Va. (WUSA) -- Fairfax County Judge Randy Bellows said Tommy Shelton deserved jail time so he denied the ex-pastor's plea deal which only called for probation.

Shelton is accused of sexually molesting two young boys 15 years ago while he was a pastor at the Community Church of God in Dunn Loring.

The victims, now men in their late 20's, came forward with the allegations in 2008. They both read witness impact statements in court. One man, who did not want to release his name, spoke to 9NEWS NOW.

"I will do everything I can do try to stop people from doing this stuff," he said as he choked up with emotion, "before, I was almost intimidated and scared and now it's almost infuriating enough to give me the courage to keep going."

Tommy Shelton's pastoral license was revoked in 1985 after he admitted to having inappropriate relationships with young boys in Illinois. However, he later served as a pastor in Virginia.

Now, Shelton faces up to seven years behind bars. His case is likely headed to trial.
