The survivors network of those abused by priests, also known as SNAP, wants federal attorneys to investigate the diocese for possible obstruction of justice. It points to a recent court deposition of Father John Doerfler. In that deposition Doerfler allegedly admits Bishop David Zubick ordered documents be destroyed concerning an unknown number of clergy who sexually assaulted children. The diocese acknowledges some files have been destroyed, but claims reliable reports of sexual abuse are reported to authorities. It calls SNAP's claims outrageous
