Peter Seewald, a German journalist, interviewed Pope Benedict XVI in July 2010. Seewald asked the pope questions about the sexual abuse scandal, the uproar by Muslims over his Regensburg lecture in 2006, his talks about condoms and other topics of interest that have occurred during his five-year pontificate.

The pope answers these and other questions in a pointed way. He apologizes for the sexual abuse but also reminds people that this kind of abuse is going on in society. He says this should not happen in the Church or anywhere.

Pope Benedict talks about relativism and how that is affecting our culture’s values. He says a Vatican III is not needed yet. He also talks candidly about women’s ordination and that he and the others in the hierarchy cannot change the stand that only men can be priests since it was decided by Jesus.

Pope Benedict discusses these and other issues, and the reader will not want to put the book down. This book is highly recommended to those interested in Catholic and Christian issues.
