The Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests (SNAP) is unhappy with the Milwaukee Catholic Archdiocese’s decision to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization. SNAP says the move allows archdiocese leaders, including Archbishop Jerome Listecki, to “dodge embarrassing depositions and courtroom cross-examinations.”

The archdiocese announced Tuesday that it had directed its attorneys to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, saying pending sexual assault lawsuits have left the organization with financial claims exceeding its means.
