Marcial Maciel Degollado refuses to go away. At a time when the Vatican outlines the beatification of John Paul II, the Congregation for the Causes of Saints makes a clarification that rejects the past related to the late priest can disturb the process. The case of the founder of the Legionaries of Christ, blamed for several crimes and banned by the Church of Rome, however, no impact on the process of beatification of John Paul II, Vatican revealed confidential documents.

The Congregation for the Causes of Saints, responsible for the "road to the altar" of Karol Wojtyla, dismissed a possible involvement of the Pope in immoral acts committed by the Mexican priest, vetoed by the Legionaries of Christ through a decree that ordered an end to all public references to the founder of the congregation.

A document, approved by the papal delegate Velasio De Paolis, calls to remove from the centers of the Legion and Regnum Christi lay movement all the pictures of the priest in which he finds himself alone or with Pope John Paul II.

The process of beatification of Wojtyla, recently resumed after a medical board by the Vatican a miracle attributed to John Paul II, suggests that expires this year. Cardinals and bishops from the Congregation for the Causes of Saints will examine the miracle this month and will send its verdict to the Pope, Benedict XVI.
