Former Arcata pastor Dino Cardelli pleaded not guilty in Humboldt County Superior Court Tuesday to a list of new charges related to the existing sex abuse case against him.

Cardelli was arraigned wearing an orange jumpsuit after having been returned to jail last week. The former pastor now faces a new felony charge of attempting to dissuade a witness -- one of two alleged victims in the case -- and 25 misdemeanor counts of willfully disobeying a court order.

A preliminary hearing for Cardelli is currently set for Feb. 1, during which the Humboldt County District Attorney's Office will lay out a case in which he stands accused of recurring sexual abuse of a child under the age of 14, Jane Doe 1, one count of lewd and lascivious acts with a minor and two counts of oral copulation with a minor. Three more charges were filed in October, alleging committing a lewd and lascivious act with a child under 14 years old, Jane Doe 2.

He has pleaded not guilty to those charges. Cardelli posted a reduced bail of $250,000 in early October, but prosecutor Kelly Neel has claimed that he has since repeatedly contacted Jane Doe 1 using a throw-away cell phone and a false Facebook page. The complaint alleges those contacts occurred 25 times between Oct. 10, 2010, and Jan. 6. Those would be alleged violations of Judge Bruce Watson's order not to contact the victims in the case.

Cardelli is now in jail on $750,000 bail.
