Members of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) Yarmouth Rural Detachment charged an 81 year-old man with numerous sexual offences dating back to 1970's.

In April 2010, Yarmouth Rural RCMP received a complaint of a historical sexual assault. As a result of the investigation, Albert LeBlanc of Bouctouche, New Brunswick, is charged with 40 sexual offences relating to three victims. The offences are alleged to have occurred from 1970 to 1985 while LeBlanc resided in Yarmouth County.

Mr. LeBlanc was arrested at his home in New Brunswick earlier this month. He was released from custody on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in V Provincial Court on March 15, 2011.
