The trial of former priest Gary Mercure, a man who served in churches in Troy and Queensbury, continued on Friday.

Mercure allegedly raped two alter boys years ago and is now facing charges in Mass.

One of Mercure's victims, now in his 30s, testified to his shame and told the court how he used to hide his bloody underwear after each attack because he didn't know what else to do.

"I put them in my closet and I put them in my attic," said the victim. "There was a hole in the wall and I pushed them in the wall."

The victim's mother also testified. She said she never suspected a thing until years later, during a remodeling project in their home.

Testimony resumes on Monday and the defense reminds jurors that much of this testimony pertains to crimes in the state of New York, where a statute of limitations eliminated any chances of prosecution. However, since Mercure took some of his victims on a ski trip to Mass., he is facing charges there.

The defense claimed all the media attention has already all but convicted Mercure.
