Following yesterday's Grand Jury Report that named three priests, a monsignor and a Catholic school teacher in charges of sexual abuse against minors, Cardinal Justin Rigali has announced new positions within the Archdiocese of Philadelphia meant to assist victims.

A release from the Archdiocese today says people have been hired and positions created to address the needs of victims in current, future and past allegations of abuse.

Mary Achilles, who's worked for the Archdiocese, D.A.'s office and former Pa. Gov. Tom Ridge, will help Rigali review the Grand Jury Report.

Dr. Joseph A. Cronin, Jr., will serve as the new Clergy Support Associate. The licensed psychologist is meant to encourage priests' compliance in such matters.

The new Delegate for Investigations will be a separate position from the Office of Child and Youth Protection, and is meant to follow all accusations of abuse and report cases to authorities.

There's nothing in the announcement about telling priests not to commit sexual assault.
