A Christian summer camp down on the Cape says Senator Scott Brown was a camper there.

An official at Camp Good News on Snake Pond in Sandwich has confirmed Brown did attend their school back when he was a boy.

Brown revealed in his autobiography that he had been molested at a camp down on the Cape, but refused to elaborate on the event or name which camp the abuse allegedly occurred at.

Camp Good News' director, Jane Brooks, told the Cape Cod Times she is not sure if the abuse happened at her camp, but said workers at the non-denominational camp are “crushed” by Brown's account of his abuse.

Brown's bombshell has many asking what's next.

The statute of limitations says a victim has up to three years after they realize the assault has affected them to take legal action. Attorney General Martha Coakley says it's up to the senator whether the case will go forward.

Governor Deval Patrick says Sen. Scott Brown's revelation that he was sexually and physically abused as a child could help others who have suffered similar abuse.

Patrick said he has not read brown's new book in which he discusses his childhood trauma. But the governor said Thursday that it sounds like a "very brave account of some tough times in his life."
