Bishop Anders Arborelius sees abuse as terrible.

The Catholic Church in Sweden has now confirmed that between 1940 and 1970, three priests sexually abused children, reports news agency TT.

One of the priests molested two boys, reports TT. Another of the priests abused a girl for up to four years in connection with her confessions. The third priest molested two sisters, while at the same time, carrying on relations with the mother.

The information comes from an internal investigation into four complaints, according to a press release from the Catholic Bishop's office.

"To do violence against a minor is an awful crime that causes a lifetime of suffering. To me, there is no statute of limitations for child abuse," wrote Anders Arborelius, the Bishop of Stockholm's Catholic diocese.

"The Catholic Church can never make it up to those affected, but with this investigation, we want to give them the redress that they deserve," he wrote.
