Rev. William Casey

After the hearing, supporters of Warren Tucker, the alleged victim, held signs outside of the courthouse. Annette Alix is one of several people offering support for Tucker.

"Many families aren't as supportive as they should be and as the mother of an abuse victim, I know what the victim goes through and what family members go through," Alix said.

As it stands, Casey is set to go to trial in Sullivan County on April 11.

UPDATE

Judge Robert Montgomery finds no issue with statue of limitations.

Judge wants more time to review separate motion.

Court will continue March 14 at 9 a.m.

Spivey asked for a gag order, but the request was denied. The victim has said he doesn't plan on doing anymore interviews.

UPDATE

Casey's attorney Rick Spivey argues that the statute of limitations has run out. He is being charged 21 years after the alleged crimes too place.

Spivey also argues that the district attorney's office has no specifics on the date or time the alleged crimes occurred.

Former priest William Casey is in court this afternoon for a motions hearing.

Casey is charged with criminal sexual conduct and aggravated rape involving a minor. In October he plead not guilty to the charges.

Casey's alleged victim, Warren Tucker, intently watched the hearing from the gallery. Tucker alleges that between the ages of 10 and 15, Casey molested him more than 50 times. Tucker says Casey was a priest at a church in Kingsport when the alleged abuse took place.

11Connects' Nate Morabito is in the courtroom and will have the facts for you beginning at 5 p.m. from our newsroom at the Bristol Herald Courier.
