  Former Catholic Brother Jailed over Child Sex Offences

A former Catholic brother has been sentenced to more than two years in prison for child sex offences committed in the 1960s.

Peter Van Ruth was found guilty of three counts of indecent assault in the Victorian County Court.

The convictions relate to assaults on two schoolboys in 1969, when Van Ruth worked at the Salesian College in Sunbury.

He has been sentenced to 28 months in prison, with a minimum of 16 months.
