VANCOUVER, Wash. -- Jason Wolk, who is accused of sexually abusing two teenage boys from his church youth group, made his first appearance in Clark County Court today.

The 25-year-old is charged with four counts of child molestation and one count of sexual misconduct with a minor.

Wolk used to lead the youth group at the Vancouver Wesleyan Church. Investigators believe he molested the boys during private mentoring meetings and on a camping trip out of the area.

Some family members of the accusers were in the courtroom today to face Wolk. One relative, who did not want to be identified, tells FOX 12 that when the boys came forward about Wolk, the whole family was blindsided.

"Jason was a good role model. He was a well known man, a good man of the community," the relative says. "I, along with many people, was totally shocked when the victims came out with it. My heart was totally broken."

A pastor from the Vancouver Wesleyan Church released this statement: "We are saddened by the recent events and are reaching out to those involved. I want to clarify that Jason was never on staff at the church and the alleged behaviors did not happen during church events or on church property. We immediately contacted the proper authorities and are in full cooperation with them."

Wolk is out of custody and is not allowed to have contact with his accusers or any minors. His next court appearance is scheduled for April 5.
