Prosecutors have filed more charges against Catholic priest Eric Dejaeger.

In the past month, the Crown added 10 charges to the list of accusations facing Dejaeger.

He now faces a total of 20 charges, mostly sex-related, brought by complainants who lived in Igloolik in the late 1970s and early 1980s. A court-ordered ban prohibits the publication of information that could identify the complainants.

Dejaeger, who was born in Belgium but has Canadian citizenship, had been living in Belgium after allegedly fleeing prosecution on sex-related charges in 1995. In January he was expelled by Belgium for immigration violations and has been in custody in Nunavut since.

His next court appearance is set for April 5.
