A former Oceanside pastor was arrested in Alabama on suspicion of sexual torture and aggravated child abuse, authorities said.

Barry Cook, 47, was arrested Thursday, said Montgomery police Lt. Mark Drinkard. Cook founded Ambassador Family Church in Oceanside, which went into foreclosure in 2008.

Cook was fired earlier this week from the pastoral staff of Christian Life Church in Montgomery, television station WSFA in Montgomery reported.

Jannah Bailey, a spokeswoman for Montgomery Child Protect, an organization that assisted with the investigation, told the television station that the victim is a 12-year-old boy.
