MILWAUKEE - On Monday, Marquette University was set to have victims of clergy sex abuse join experts on the topic at an international conference.

People from all around the world were expected to descend on Marquette's campus for the two day event.

Panelists were to include the Archbishop of Dublin as well as abuse victims.

The goal was to have people come together and heal from the scandal that has affected the Catholic Church.

The conference comes a few months after the Milwaukee Archdiocese filed for bankruptcy because it could no longer afford to pay out huge abuse settlements.

After bankruptcy, no one else can sue the Archdiocese, protecting it from future abuse lawsuits.

Several abuse victims were to address crowds at Marquette, along with representatives from the Boston Archdiocese, where the scandal broke out nearly a decade ago.

More panelists were coming from Australia, Ireland and across the Untied States.

It was set to start at 8:15 a.m. Monday morning.
