A Catholic nun is being accused of committing a serious sin at a South Florida school.
A former student has come forward decades later, saying he was sexually abused by Sister Joan Marie at St. James Catholic School in North Miami.
He has claimed his teacher fondled him on a regular basis while he attended the first grade and has now filed a lawsuit against the Archdiocese of Miami.
He now hopes other possible victims will also come forward. His attorney Jeffrey Herman said, "He's finally coming forward now after all these years because he feels he can no longer suffer in silence. He actually has a son who is now in first grade, and that got him thinking how fragile it is, and he needed to protect other kids from being abused."
The alleged abuse took place in the seventies.
