A former Mountain Home priest and his female parishioner are at the center of a lawsuit filed by Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests (SNAP), a Chicago-based group, against the Catholic Diocese of Little Rock.

Father Charles Kanu served as priest at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church in Mountain Home from 2005 to 2009, according to Bulletinarchives. During that time, Kanu allegedly exploited a woman parishioner and counselee, according to a news release from SNAP, who is bringing the suit on behalf of "Jane Doe."
