The London law firm of Ledroit Beckett Litigation Lawyers has commenced three lawsuits against the Roman Catholic Diocese of Sault Ste. Marie and Father John E. Sullivan for sexual abuse alleged to have been committed by Sullivan.

Sullivan was ordained a priest of the Diocese of Sault Ste. Marie in 1958. He was criminally charged in 1989 with sex-related offences and eventually convicted. He remains a priest in good standing with the Roman Catholic Church. He is retired and resides in Montreal (Anjou), Que., according to Ledroit Beckett lawyer Rob Talach.

Sullivan served as administrator of Ste. Anne des Pins Parish in Sudbury in 1968 and provided chaplain services at Canadian Forces Base Falconbridge, according to Ledroit Beckett.

While at CFB Falconbridge, Sullivan abused three brothers aged 12-14. He was later charged criminally and convicted in relation to these criminal acts, said Talach.

The London lawywer wants to hear from anyone who was involved in the criminal prosecution of Sullivan or who has information about his activities over the years.
