A FORMER Queensland judge and headmaster is being sued by a past student who claims he was sexually assaulted by two teachers at a school in the 1970s where complaints about sexual perversion were ignored.

In documents filed in the Supreme Court in Brisbane, a former student at a southeast Queensland boys' college claims he was sexually assaulted by a Christian Brother in 1973 and when he complained to another teacher, that teacher also assaulted him.

The former judge and headmaster is named as the third defendant in the Supreme Court claim, which alleges he was aware the Brother and second teacher posed a risk to the plaintiff and other students after he learnt they had removed curtains from the students' shower so they "could watch naked boys showering".

"The third defendant took no measures to protect the plaintiff or other students at the school after becoming aware of the complaint referred to above," the claim states.

Under law, The Courier-Mail is unable to name the school.

The claim states the former boarder was sexually assaulted on several occasions by the Brother during 1973.

It alleges he told another teacher, the fifth defendant, but was told "his complaints were ludicrous and that no one would believe him". The teacher then also sexually assaulted him.

The Trustees of the Christian Brothers and two former school managers and operators are also being sued over the allegations.

The current principal at the school this week said he had no knowledge of the claim when contacted by The Courier-Mail and later referred questions to Christian Brothers Oceania professional standards executive officer Brother Brian Brandon. He said that "at this stage all of these allegations are unproven".

Porters Lawyers solicitor Jason Parkinson, representing the former student, has urged anyone who had gone to the school about 1973 and had any information to contact his firm.
