XENIA, Ill. — A Southern Illinois church bus driver has been jailed on felony charges that he had unlawful sexual contact with an alleged victim under the age of 13.

Joseph B. Hancock, 33, of Xenia, Ill., was arrested Monday night on a Wayne County warrant charging him with aggravated criminal sexual abuse, a class-2 felony.

Hancock's arrest came after a Wayne County Grand Jury returned an indictment against him last Friday. He was taken into custody Monday night in neighboring Clay County.

Hancock remains in the Wayne County jail under a $15,000 cash bond. If convicted, he faces 3 to 7 years in prison and a fine of up to $25,000.
