Today, in the landmark St. Francis Hospital child sexual abuse trial, the defense's expert witness, Anna Carol Salter, testified that there wasn't much information about childhood sexual abuse in the late '70s, mid-'80s, and so she started researching and eventually wrote several books on the topic.

Ironically, the magazine "Connecticut Parent" ran a review of a book about childhood sexual abuse, "No More Secrets for Me," by Oralee Wachter, in March 1985. The cover photo of that edition is a 5-year, and the cover story is on preparing for surgery. That cover photo? Was shot at St. Francis Hospital.

Maybe hospital officials didn't read the whole issue? Had they done so, it might have been instructive.

Closing arguments are scheduled for tomorrow. Ed Mahony and I will be there, live-tweeting.
