Bishop Brian Dunn of the Diocese of Antigonish addressed reporters Thursday, a day after Bishop Raymond Lahey pled guilty in an Ottawa court to importing child pornography.

ANTIGONISH — The bishop of Nova Scotia's second largest diocese urged Thursday that Catholics stunned by a sexual abuse scandal in the church seek opportunities for healing, reconciliation and reform.

"I am humbled at the commitment faith and strength of all those who have continued to find ways to be faithful in the midst of these troubled times," said Bishop Brian Dunn of the Diocese of Antigonish.

He made the comment during a press conference in Antigonish to respond to the guilty plea entered Wednesday by Bishop Raymond Lahey on a charge of importing child pornography.

"I wish to recommit the entire Diocese of Antigonish to a journey where we continue to be a church which stands as a witness to truth, service and love," he said.
