A TRUSTED "holy man" who manipulated two vulnerable women into having sex to rid themselves of black magic curses has been jailed for at least 15 years.

In the NSW District Court today, Judge Penelope Hock set a maximum term of 20 years for Tony Golossian, 63.

His friend Arthur Psichogios, 41, was jailed for at least 12 years and a maximum of 16.

He kissed and hugged his wife, Frances Psichogios, 38, after she was jailed for at least five years with a maximum of nine years.

Golossian, who had been regarded as a holy man who could communicate with angels, had been found guilty of 24 charges, most being sexual intercourse without consent.

Arthur Psichogios was found guilty of 14 similar offences while his wife was found guilty of seven charges, including administering an intoxicating substance with intent to enable sexual assault.

The two victims were convinced that black magic curses had been placed on them and their families, and they were forced to have sex to get rid of the supposed curses during "prayer sessions".

The judge said the emotional harm caused both women was "substantial".

She said the first victim, who suffered a "terrible ordeal" over four-and-a-half years, had been "cruelly manipulated into bizarre behaviour" and in effect "brainwashed".
