KENOSHA, Wis. -- A Kenosha priest has been placed on administrative leave over a report of sexual misconduct.

The Milwaukee Archdiocese told 12 News that the priest at St. Therese of Lisieux Church is being investigated by police.

In a letter sent to parishioners, Archbishop Jerome Listecki said the report alleges an inappropriate telephone conversation took place last week between the priest and a girl that included sexually explicit language.

The archdiocese said no physical contact was reported, and that the girl told her parents, who contacted Kenosha police.

The archdiocese said the priest has been restricted from the ministry pending the outcome of the investigation.

12 News is not naming the priest because he has not been charged.
