Kenosha Catholic priest Father Michael Nowak is under investigation for sexual misconduct following an alleged phone call with a young girl.

A black cloud now hangs over St. Terese Church in Kenosha. That church's priest, Nowak, has been placed on administrative leave, and stripped from the ministry.

A letter from Milwaukee Archbishop Jerome Listecki was read aloud to parishioners. Listecki writes Nowak is under investigation by Kenosha police for contacting a young girl on the phone, and using sexually explicit language. No physical contact has been reported.

Nowak has not been charged with a crime. The Kenosha Police Department is continuing their investigation, and the archdiocese says they will independently look into the matter. The church is asking no one jumps to any conclusions until all the facts are known.

Some are not surprised St. Terese Church is under another dark light. Jon Pilmaier is the Director of the Survivors Network of Those Abused by Priests (SNAP). He says this is the third priest to be removed from ministry in the Milwaukee Archdiocese in two months.

The Archdiocese of Milwaukee says if no civil charges are filed, they will still conduct an internal investigation. A priest will temporarily replace Nowak.
