U.S. Sen. Scott Brown will stop by the Barnes & Noble store in Hingham on Saturday to sign copies of the tell-all memoir that has gotten headlines around the country since it hit the bookstands in February.

In the book, “Against All Odds: My Life of Hardship, Fast Breaks and Second Chances,” Brown describes a hardscrabble upbringing in Wakefield and abuse at the hands of his mother’s various husbands. But most of the news surrounding the memoir has focused on Brown’s revelation that he was sexually molested by a camp counselor on Cape Cod when he was 10 years old.

Brown doesn’t name the camp or his abuser in the book, and he has said he is not interested in pursuing charges. Reports have identified the camp as Camp Good News in Sandwich.

Brown also writes in the book about his time playing basketball for Tufts University, joining the National Guard and posing for a nude centerfold after being named “America’s Sexiest Man” by Cosmopolitan magazine when he was 22.

A Republican known for breaking ranks with his party, Brown won his Senate seat in a 2010 special election after the death of Sen. Edward Kennedy, a Democrat who had held the seat for nearly 47 years. His term ends in 2012.

Brown will discuss his book and sign copies starting at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Barnes & Noble at 96 Derby St. in Hingham.
