	Rabbi Sentenced in NY to 2 Months for Midair Grope Wall Street Journal May 13, 2011 http://online.wsj.com/article/AP793032507c7d466dba6a1e90447286f5.html An Orthodox rabbi has been sentenced to two months behind bars for groping an Israeli Army officer on a flight to New York. A magistrate judge jailed Gavriel Bidany on Thursday after handing down the sentence in federal court in Brooklyn. Bidany had been free on $500,000 bail. The 47-year-old Bidany was convicted at a nonjury trial. The officer testified that the rabbi fondled her when she fell asleep on a Delta flight from Tel Aviv on March 27. The rabbi claimed that he never touched her. But the magistrate said he found the victim's testimony "wholly believable." Bidany, a married father of 11 children, lives in a Tel Aviv suburb.
