	Man Sues Catholic Church for Alleged Abuse WSVN May 27, 2011 http://www.wsvn.com/news/articles/local/22004413983571/ A man who has alleged that a former South Florida priest performed unholy acts on him is talking about his strong accusations. Lawyers have filed a lawsuit against the Archdiocese of Miami on behalf of Jorge Rubio, who claims to have been molested as a 10-year-old boy by father Francisco Carrera. The reported sexual abuse took place in the seventies, when the alleged victim was an alter boy at the Lady of Divine Providence in Miami. "He was on a topic that was uncomfortable to hear," Rubio recalled at a press conference, "and then he got his hands involved with what he was discussing, which was puberty, masturbation, and went ahead and performed these acts." The suit also alleges the Archdiocese knew Father Carrera was sexually abusing boys and reassigned him to hide the truth. The priest was eventually sent back to his native Spain. The Archdiocese has since released a statement saying, "The Catholic Church's concerns are for the victims and a prevailing sense of justice. In addition, over these past nine years, the Archdiocese has been forthcoming and taken steps to keep children safe through training and background screenings of all its employees."
