Bishop Robert Finn will be hearing from parishioners at St. Thomas More Church at 7 p.m. Friday regarding accusations against a priest accused of possessing child pornography.

Rev. Shawn Ratigan was associate pastor at St. Thomas More prior to being charged with the crime, which is alleged to have occurred in Clay County when he was pastor at St. Patrick's.

Finn and the Catholic Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph have since been the subject of criticism for the handling of the case. Finn originally agreed to conduct the meeting as a question and answer session. Following a lawsuit filed Thursday, counsel for the diocese and several other Catholic attorneys advised the bishop that any comment at this time would be ill advised, so the meeting will instead be an opportunity for parishioners to share their thoughts directly with Finn.
