PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) -- The Vatican has asked for more time to produce documents a federal judge in Oregon has ordered released in a lawsuit by a man who claims he was sexually abused by a Roman Catholic priest in the 1960s.

Saying most of the documents are in Latin, an attorney for the Vatican has asked for an additional 60 days.

But an attorney for the man who filed the suit says the Vatican has had plenty of time and asked the judge not to grant any delay.

The man has been identified in court documents only as John V. Doe in the lawsuit filed more than eight years ago. He seeks to hold the Vatican liable for abuse he said he suffered from the Rev. Andrew Ronan, who died in 1992.
