The Rev. Keith LeBlanc, who resigned as pastor of St. John the Baptist Church a year ago after an investigation by the Archdiocese of Boston revealed financial improprieties at that parish, admitted to sufficient facts today on a charge of larceny over $250.

LeBlanc was charged with stealing $83,000 from the church, about $50,000 of it from collections at Mass, according to Assistant District Attorney Ashlee Dole.

Haverhill District Court Judge Stephen Abany continued the case without a finding for three years and ordered the priest to perform 40 hours of community service for each of those years. LeBlanc will be on probation during that time.

Abany also ordered LeBlanc to continue to undergo counseling. LeBlanc was accused of spending several thousand dollars on "adult" movies and admitted to investigators he had an addiction to pornography.

LeBlanc led St. John the Baptist Church for six years until his abrupt resignation. His attorney, William Sullivan, said the priest is now living in New Hampshire with family members.

LeBlanc declined to comment to the media.
