Bernard Chojancki, 36, a Catholic priest from Michigan, is accused of exposing himself to an undercover Sarasota County sheriff's detective at Caspersen Beach on Tuesday.

A Catholic priest from Orchid Lake, Mich., reportedly exposed himself to an undercover Sarasota County sheriff's detective at Caspersen Beach.

The detective arrested Bernard Chojancki, 36, on a charge of exposure of sexual organs on Tuesday afternoon.

According to an arrest report, Chojancki joined the detective on a trail, grabbed the detective's genitals, exposed himself and said he wanted to commit a sexual act on the officer.

The Sheriff's Office says Chojnacki does not have a local address but, in 2009, the Diocese of Venice appointed him parochial vicar for St. Charles Borromeo Parish in Port Charlotte. He told deputies that he is a teacher and priest.
