Charles Bishop, of Florida, said he was 9 years old and attending summer camp when he said he was molested by Redemptorist priest Father Cristoff Joseph Springer.

"He talked about the the male reproductive system, talked about sperm, then he asked me if I wanted to see it. It was me and friend of mine, and we said, 'Sure,'" said Bishop.

The news comes on the eve of a federal court hearing in New Orleans. The Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests, or SNAP, said Springer abused 30 children in three decades, but believe he's abused hundreds more.

Springer, who is no longer a priest, previously worked in New Orleans, Baton Rouge and Slidell.

"He's a notorious, serial predator and an extremely dangerous man, " said Barbara Dorris, SNAP's executive director.

SNAP provided a sworn statement from Springer, a confession he signed before a notary public in 2009. In the handwritten document, Springer said he, too, was abused by a priest as a child and he wanted the truth to be known and his conscience to be clear.

Advocates said Springer was ordered to seek therapy decades ago but refused.

A hearing is set for Thursday morning at 9 a.m. in federal court. Anyone who's been abused by Springer is asked to come forward by contacting authorities.
