HAVERHILL, Mass. (AP) — A Roman Catholic priest accused of stealing more than $83,000 from his church to pay personal bills and feed his addiction to pornography has admitted to sufficient facts.

The Rev. Keith LeBlanc, former pastor of St. John the Baptist Church in Haverhill, was sentenced Wednesday to three years of probation.

By admitting to sufficient facts, he acknowledges that prosecutors could win a conviction if the case went to trial.

The judge continued the case without a finding until June 8, 2014 and ordered LeBlanc to continue counseling for his addiction to pornography.

LeBlanc's lawyer says he is receiving help for his addiction.

A spokesman for the Boston Archdiocese says LeBlanc is "an unassigned priest on restriction."

The Eagle-Tribune reports that most of the money has been replaced by insurance.
