Bishop Finn: All is well!

Here's the latest in the priest sex-abuse scandal: Sex-abuse victims of priests are now calling for grand juries to be convened in Jackson, Buchanan and Clay counties to investigate whether Catholic Church leaders covered up sex crimes in the diocese, according to KCTV5.

Bishop Robert Finn isn't without his supporters, who have planned a parade and rally on Saturday called "Public Prayer Procession and Rosary Rally," Fox 4 reported. The Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests is asking Finn's supporters to call off the march, saying such rallies of support may intimidate victims of abuse.

Finn has repeatedly apologized, although his words are hollow, given the way he handled the allegations against Shawn Ratigan. A priest shortage is no excuse for allowing someone accused of inappropriate contact with children to stay on the job.

A federal lawsuit has been filed, accusing Finn and the diocese of trying to cover up the allegations of abuse to avoid scandal.

A week ago, Finn introduced a five-point plan for dealing with future sexual-abuse cases. Really, how hard is it for men of the cloth to keep their hands off children and for the church to turn these perverts into the police? This is not hard. Oh, and look for the Westboro Baptist Church to protest, because they called it "these pedophile whorehouses" on Sunday.
