Kansas City police said they found images of a child on a computer while conducting a search at a former residence of a priest who's been charged with possessing child pornography.

A search warrant indicated that police found the images while examining a guest computer at the Vincentian Parish Mission Center.

The Rev. Shawn F. Ratigan was living at the center before Clay County prosecutors charged him with three counts of possessing child pornography.

According to the warrant, police said they found emails under the name "sratigan" that contained thumbnail images of at least one child. Several images were taken from an angle that exposed the child's underwear.

The warrant dated June 13 said police also checked at least two Yahoo accounts believed to belong to Ratigan and the lists of any names on those accounts' friends lists.

Police said they were examining the lists of names of people who sent and received e-mails from those accounts to check for transmissions of child pornography.
