LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- A Louisville priest faced a judge this morning on sodomy charges.

A Jefferson County grand jury indicted Reverend James Schook on seven charges. Two allegedly involved underage male victims in the 1970's.

Police and prosecutors first began investigating the case in 2009. The Archdiocese of Louisville permanently suspended Schook last year after it found the sexual abuse claims against him were valid.

Schook was a priest at St. Ignatius Martyr Church on Rangeland Road. He was released on bond.
