A court hearing on whether Jose Feliciano's alleged criminal past can be used against him at his September trial on charges of murdering the Rev. Edward Hinds was postponed today when he complained of chest tightness and had elevated blood pressure.

As Feliciano, the 66-year-old former custodian for St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Chatham, was being wheeled out of Superior Court Judge Thomas V. Manahan's courtroom, he fell from the chair to the floor in a courtroom corridor and was being attended to by Morris County sheriff's officers.

The purpose of today's hearing, which Manahan rescheduled to Monday, was for a ruling on whether a criminal charge filed against Feliciano in the late 1980s for alleged sexual touching of a little girl in Philadelphia, can be used against him at trial.
