Students break silence after a former Saskatoon high school gym teacher was sentenced in June after pleading guilty to 17 charges of sexual assault.

Three former Saskatoon students of St. Paul's High School have disclosed allegations of sexual assault made by a now convicted former catholic school teacher, Fr. William Marshall.

As a result of the Ontario Provincial police investigation, the 89-year-old man pleaded guilty to 17 charges of sexual assault. He was sentenced in June to two years in an Ontario prison and placed on three years' on probation.

Marshall taught at the St. Paul's High School in Saskatoon from 1958 to 1961. St. Paul's High School closed in 1967.

The first allegation was brought forth by an Ontario student in 1996. Before that time, there had been no complaints or suspicions of the priest's behaviour.

In the spring of 2010, the Ontario police disclosed they were investigating Marshall for allegations of sexual assault and inappropriate conduct while he was a teacher in a number of Ontario high schools.

The victims' are currently in their 60's.

St. Paul's High School was located in the 400 block of 22nd Street East, which is now the site of the Federated Cooperatives Ltd. building.
