Judge Orders Catholic Church Officials to Hand over Private Report

HOUMA, LA (WAFB) - In Terrebonne Parish, a judge has ordered Catholic church officials to hand over a report about sexual abuse allegations against a now retired priest.

Ettienne Leblanc, a former priest, is being sued by a 28-year-old Morgan City man claiming to have been sexually abused from 1991 to 1997.

The attorney for the 28-year-old said the diocese's reluctance to turn over the report is part of a cover-up.

Meanwhile, attorneys for the diocese plan to appeal the judge's order saying the report is protected because it was prepared in anticipation of a lawsuit.
