A Sullivan County judge Friday revoked the bond of a former East Tennessee priest convicted earlier this month of sexually abusing a teenage boy 30 years ago.

Circuit Court Judge Robert Montgomery ruled today that William Casey, 77, of Greeneville will be held in jail until an Aug. 22 sentencing hearing, Sullivan County District Attorney General Barry Staubus said.

Casey formerly had been a priest in Knoxville and elsewhere in East Tennessee. His crimes occurred shortly after becoming priest of St. Dominic's Catholic Church in Kingsport in the 1970s.

He has pleaded to sexually abusing Warren Tucker, now 46, between 1978 and 1980.

More details as they develop online and in Saturday's News Sentinel.
