The Rev. Michael Angeloni, the Catholic priest who was indicted this week by a grand jury for stealing $305,000 from an elderly parishioner, turned himself in to authorities Thursday.

According to the Delaware Attorney General's office, Angeloni, who had been a past associate pastor at Church of the Holy Child in Brandywood, was released on $100,000 unsecured bail after his arraignment on one count of theft of more than $100,000.

The Diocese of Wilmington has placed the 62-year-old Angeloni on suspension while the case is proceeding.

Angeloni's attorney, Brett Bendistis, had no comment about the case Thursday.
