BOGOTA, Colombia—A Colombian court has ordered a diocese of the Roman Catholic Church to pay $220,000 in restitution to two youths who were sexually abused by one of its priests in 2007.

The Rev. Luis Enrique Duque is already serving an 18-year prison sentence for the crime.

David Martinez is a lawyer for the victims. He told The Associated Press after Wednesday's court ruling that the two youths were 7 and 8 when the abuse occurred on parish property in the town of Libano in the central state of Tolima.

Duque fled after being sentenced three years ago in the case. But he was arrested last year and the lawyer says the priest is currently in prison.
