The 51st District Court has released audio clips and transcripts used during the trial of Warren Jeffs, who was convicted of two counts of sexual assault of a child. A Tom Green County jury this week sentenced Jeffs to life plus 20 years in state prison.
A key audio clip used in the trial is a recording prosecutors allege to be Jeffs having sex with a 12-year-old girl at the YFZ ranch near Eldorado. Here is a portion of that audio clip and the written transcript of the entire recording which was given by the prosecution to Tom Green County jurors. Some readers may find the transcript disturbing.
The first part of this clip included graphic content of Jeffs with the child. What followed was Jeffs giving instruction on his religious law.
Here is the audio of Jeffs giving that instruction. The clip ends with Jeffs asking the women to "keep praying the prayer of oneness."
