An article in last Thursday’s edition, concerning the release by the Vatican of a file on Fr Andrew Ronan who is accused of molesting boys, said he was an Irish priest. He is American.

A clarification in last Thursday’s edition, referred to Paul O’Brien, the chief executive of Quinn Group, as ’Paul O’Brien of KPMG chartered accountants’. Mr O’Brien neither has nor had any association with KPMG. KPMG is the firm of Kieran Wallace who was appointed by Anglo Irish Bank as receiver over certain shares in the Quinn Group. Neither Mr Wallace, KPMG nor Anglo Irish Bank had any role in Mr O’Brien’s appointment as chief executive. He was appointed by the board of directors of Quinn Group Ltd.

An article in last Thursday’s edition, concerning a sale of paintings, said that one by Willam Orpen was given to the National Gallery as a gift to the nation from Nama. The painting was by Sir John Lavery.
