Sentencing in the William Casey sex abuse case in Sullivan County has been continued until Oct. 7, the prosecutor said today.

Casey, 77, a former pastor of Notre Dame Catholic Church in Greeneville and a Camp Creek resident, was convicted July 14 by a Sullivan County jury of one count of first-degree criminal sexual misconduct and two counts of aggravated rape.

Casey was convicted of sexually molesting Warren Tucker more than 30 years ago in Kingsport when he was assigned to St. Dominic Church and Tucker was a student at St. Dominic Catholic School.
