Most Reverend Robert J. McManus, Bishop of Worcester, has announced that he has placed Rev. Lowe Dongor on administrative leave of absence thereby relieving him of his duties as associate pastor at St. Joseph Parish in Fitchburg as well as relieving him from any public ministry. The announcement was made to the parish at all Masses this past weekend by Rev. Richard Trainor, pastor of St. Joseph Parish. Neither the diocese nor the parish has received any complaints from individuals about Fr. Dongor. However the bishop determined that a leave of absence was necessary in order to address issues which impact Father Dongor’s ability to minister to parishioners at this time. Bishop McManus has assigned him residency at the Holy Name of Jesus House of Studies under the supervision of Rev. James Mazzone, Director of Vocations.

Father Dongor was ordained in June 2010 and St. Joseph was his first assignment.
